You wont forget this wondering child

So you ran away 

decided to play those worldly games 

Life looked great for a while. 

Then the thrill died down.
Its just you and your thoughts, with no one around. 

Your putting up a fight not letting go.  

Didn't you know, that you could never win in a battle against sin?

Satan is not your friend, no he's not your friend. 

Theres a long road ahead 

one you used to know.

What if you turned back 

would you still be known as His child after all of those miles

going down the wrong path?

Oh the prodigal Son is not the only one who needs forgiveness. 

There is beauty to be found in repentance. 

You were dead and now alive, lost and now find.

Run home, just run home.


Sometimes I look at all the "bad people" and say hey they used to know Christ what happened to them.  Or, how could anyone be so awful! Then I look at myself.  Me and my wandering heart.  Praying that God would draw near.  Then I open up to the Prodigal Son parable. I have been trying to earn grace.  I could easily fit into the stubborn brother who will not be thankful for his brothers return, or the one who just keeps wandering.  The amazing thing is that He loves us anyway.  And he continues to offer us forgiveness if we would only repent and come home. Amen.
